Who is Kammok, and what will you do with the money raised on Kickstarter?

At Kammok, we’re motivated by adventure, community, and love. We seek to change the world by inspiring you to invite others outside. We do this by designing adventure grade, better made camp gear from our HQ in Austin, Texas.

Funds raised on Kickstarter will help us produce the first of our Bobcat trail quilts. Your support helps us cover the working capital needed to bring this product to life.

What else does Kammok make?

Kammok designs technical outdoor gear to elevate your camp. We were born on Kickstarter in 2011 when we launched our Roo hammock & Python Straps. Since then, we’ve designed bug nets, rain tarps, tents, and insulated sleep systems so can enjoy your outdoor adventure no matter the elements.

How do I add Kammok products that are not in the menu?

If you are looking for other products made by Kammok, head over to www.kammok.com or visit one of our retailers around the country. You can find our retail partners at https://kammok.com/pages/retail-locations. We will also have select Kammok products available for add-on during the survey stage of the campaign.

When will I be charged for my pledge?

You will not be charged until the end of the campaign on October 26th.

When making a pledge, do you get the $10 and $45 rewards as well? Or do you need to pledge those too?

Rewards don’t ‘stack’. You can add additional funds to your pledge to cover two or more rewards, and we will do a survey at the end of the campaign to determine what rewards you would like to receive.

Are other color options available?

Right now, we are launching with our signature Ember Orange and two new colors: Midnight Blue and Pine Green. It is possible in future production runs that we will introduce new colors of the Bobcat.

Does the Bobcat integrate with your hammocks?

Absolutely. The Bobcat trail quilt makes toasty topquilt or snaps into your Roo hammock gear loops to cocoon you below as an underquilt.

What is a trail quilt?

We define a trail quilt as a quilt that can serve as both a topquilt and hammock underquilt on the trail. Our trail quilts also afford you the option of creating footboxes or using it as a minimalist sleeping bag. Our Bobcat and Firebelly are both trail quilts because of their packable down construction and versatile use cases.

Is the Bobcat temperature rated?

Our Bobcat is not scientifically tested or rated for temperature limits - only enclosed products with zippers can be tested for EN standard temperature ratings.

That said, our team has tested this trail quilt in the field, and we recommend using it at 45ºF and above.

How is the Bobcat different than the Firebelly?

The Bobcat joins the Firebelly as the newest member of our trail quilt family, A more packable option for temperatures 45ºF and above, the Bobcat stands apart with its lower price point, much lighter weight, stitch though construction and roll-top, water resistant stuff sack. Designed with travel and backpacking in mind, the Bobcat offers warmth on the go. Use the Bobcat in moderate-to-cool temperatures. Use the Firebelly in cooler fall and winter temperatures, when extra size and warmth is needed.

Is the Bobcat treated with water repellants?

The Bobcat’s nylon ripstop shell is treated with a durable water repellant (DWR) finish to keep the down dry.

How do I care for my Bobcat?

Keep your Bobcat in tip-top shape by spot cleaning or hand washing when possible. If machine washing, use a front-load washer only and set to a warm, gentle cycle. Wash down product by itself with a cleaner specifically designed for down. We recommend the Grangers Down Wash Kit. Do not use liquid detergent, and stay away from bleach. Rinse thoroughly, but do not wring. Air dry flat. Shake to restore loft or throw in a dryer on a “no heat” setting with a clean tennis ball. This product does not look good with a perm. Never dry clean.

When will I get my product?

We expect finished Bobcat trail quilts to arrive stateside by end of November. Our goal is to ship your Bobcat quilts in December well ahead of the holidays.

Is the delivery date of my Bobcat(s) guaranteed?

Kammok has worked closely with our factory to ensure that our production timeline is realistic for the Bobcat. We do not anticipate having to delay your delivery date, but we will be in close communication with you along the way if we hit a hitch in production.

What's the shipping cost?

Shipping is included in your pledge within the continental United States. There is an additional shipping charge for international customers. Customs are not included and may be charged separately.

Do you ship internationally? Does it cost extra?

Yes. There is an additional shipping charge of $20 to Canadian customers and $25 for all other international shipments. This does not include duties & customs which may be incurred upon delivery.

What method/carrier will you use? Will there be tracking information?

We will select the best carrier available, and we will provide tracking information via email when available. All international orders will ship via USPS International.

Can I pick up my reward from the Kammok Gear Shop?

Unfortunately, we are not offering in-store pickup at this time. If you’re local, we would love for you to swing by our Gear Shop to say hi and check out the Bobcat in-person. We’re located on the Austin’s East Side, you can find us at 1401 E. 7th Street.

Will the Bobcat be sold at retail?

The Bobcat will be sold at MSRP in retail spaces following our holiday delivery. If you are a retail partner of Kammok, you can inquire about bulk orders at [email protected]. Kammok will ensure that our holiday backers will be the absolute first to get this product!

What is your warranty?

We stand by our gear. Every Kammok product is covered by a lifetime warranty, so you can be confident your gear will outlast your adventures. If any part of your Kammok product becomes non-functioning or defective, we will take care of you by repairing or replacing it.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
